Good afternoon,
As you are well aware (because I can't stop talking about it), as a community we were able to raise over $30,000 for the Peaceful Heart Network through the 24 Hours of Tapping event.
What you don't know is that one of the reasons I ran the event was because I was hiding from something.
Yes, you read that right.
The guy who describes himself professionally as someone who "helps small business owners to eliminate self-sabotage" spent most of the first half of 2022 sabotaging himself.
Of course, raising that much money was no bad thing!
In fact, it is one of my proudest professional achievements (until next year that is, when we raise $100k). At the
same time, throwing myself and all my resources into the event was a form of self-sabotage.
There was something else I needed to be working on in my business.
It was something that I was so afraid to do that I gave up most of my time and all of my team's time over ten weeks to run a fundraiser…just so I didn't have to face my fear.
Fortunately, I was using my powers of self-sabotage for a great cause!
BUT the reality is I would have done the fundraiser anyway AND I could have done it in a way that also took care of my own needs.
In this week's podcast I share the story of the last ten months, what I was afraid of, how I overcame my fear, and the lessons you can learn from the process.
This is a somewhat more personal reflection than most of the regular podcast episodes; I am sharing it in the hope that you can find some useful nuggets in case you are ever stuck in the way that I was.
You can find my reflection here: https://tappingqanda.com/538
I would love to hear which parts of this reflection you find most useful,
Gene
