Good morning,
The mind is a brilliant problem-solving tool.
One of the ways that I like to kickstart the creative process is to throw myself into the deep end and see what the subconscious mind comes up with in response to a problem I'm facing.
AND sometimes the outcome is amazing...
When I sit down to record a podcast, I
work from notes. These are usually just an outline because I am talking about a topic I have already thought about a lot.
I write down the podcast episode number, the date of the episode, and three or
four bullet points.
I never write out or plan the podcast introduction/hook. This is the short introduction I do right at the beginning that I hope will entice you to listen to the whole episode.
For this week's podcast I was struggling to come up with a hook, so I decided to throw myself in at the deep end and see what I would come up with.
I hit the record button and I just started talking. The only thing I was thinking about was the topic of the episode and what might be hook-worthy.
And then I said: "The biggest obstacle to our transformation is our history!"
That was it! Not only do I believe that to be true, but I had never thought about transformation in exactly that way.
When I am working with a client or tapping on my own, it is invariably around trying to replace an old belief (or belief system), not simply trying to install a new belief.
Your subconscious mind doesn't want to give up the beliefs it thinks will keep you safe and healthy.
This week we're continuing the My Favorite Tapping Phrases series with one I find particularly powerful when I am working on beliefs that the subconscious mind is reluctant to let go.
It is easy to add this phrase to your tapping toolset and you can learn it here: https://tappingqanda.com/555
Let me know how this one works for you,
Gene
PS: This year's 24 Hours of Tapping will be here before we know it. Mark your calendar for Friday, July 14th and Saturday, July 15th. While we are counting down to this year's event, today would be a great chance to revisit one of
the excellent interviews from last year. Here is a fascinating conversation with Dr. Peta Stapleton about the surprise result from studying using tapping for chronic pain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3uJJo9L1DE
