If there's one thing we humans are good at, it's complaining!
We moan about the weather, the service, our co-workers, our commute, our wifi, our families…and just about everything else.
When I behave like that, I refer to myself as a "grumpopotamus".
BUT did you know that there is a sound evolutionary
reason behind our habit of complaining?
Our ability to recognize what we do and do not like serves a purpose in that it helps us avoid negative situations or relationships in future.
That is useful if we are trying to have our basic needs met (like food, shelter, and safety), but it is plain annoying when we complain constantly about minor issues in modern life.
That is when we are liable to turn into a grumpopotamus!
In this week's podcast we continue the My Favorite Tapping Phrases series with a simple phrase that will help you to shift out of a grumpopotamus-like mindset into a more positive and productive one.
I love using this phrase in my
own tapping and with my clients, and share how it also works well in other areas of healing and personal transformation
PS: This year's 24 Hours of Tapping will be here before we know it. Mark your calendar for Friday, July 14th and Saturday, July 15th. While we are counting down to this year's event, today would be a great chance to revisit one of the excellent interviews from last year. Here is an insightful conversation with Dr. Jen Cincurak about how tapping impacts our nervous system: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFvNWJpcSUU
PPS: Meet our new friend below! Some time in the next few weeks you'll be invited to participate in our Name the Grumpopotamus competition.
