Good morning,
Recently I went on a first date with someone I had met through a silly dating app and we decided to go for a coffee and a walk in Central Park on one of those perfect early fall days
in NYC that always seem to feature in romantic comedies.
I met my date, "Donna", in front of the coffee shop. After greeting each other we went inside to order our coffee.
Like most coffee shops, the background music was upbeat and pleasant.
As we were standing in line, Donna said "Oh, I see you like to dance."
I think I was more shocked than she was because I didn't realize that I was dancing along to the music.
The fact that I was dancing was remarkable for two reasons.
First, I am not one who is prone to fits of dancing in public. Second, under normal circumstances I would have been a little more self-conscious being on a first date and meeting someone I was trying to impress.
The reason I was dancing in public
After Donna and I said our goodbyes at the end of the date, I jumped on the ferry and headed back to my neighborhood. As we speeded down the East River and I was soaking up the fall sunshine, I thought about how I had danced in public on a first date.
I pondered, "Hmmmm... Not self-conscious at all. Why was that? And
if I wasn't feeling self-conscious, what was I feeling?"
And then it hit me!
I was the thing I am always striving to be. I felt comfortable in my own skin!
It is funny that it took me a little while to work that out, because that has pretty much been my primary goal of tapping for the last decade.
I don't want to be perfect.
I don't want to
get everything right.
I don't even want unfathomable success.
Those would all be nice of course, BUT for a long time my primary stated goal has been: "to be comfortable in my own skin".
Here's what being comfortable in my own skin means to me:
- I am not worried about what other people think of my worth
- I am not worried about circumstances I do not control
- I am not worried about getting anything exactly right
- I recognize my own worth and value outside the work I do and actions I take
- I am holding
myself to the standards I set for myself, not the standards set by others
- I am able to be comfortable with what I do well, and what I don't
- I am able to approach new situations and opportunities with curiosity and not fear
- I am humble enough to know I don't know everything
- I am an eager learner
- I can be fully present in the moment and enjoy it for what it is, regardless of what else is going on in my life
And that explains why I was randomly dancing in a coffee shop!
Because of all the personal work I have been doing on letting go of all the unuseful stories in my subconscious mind, my life is so much better.
For me "being comfortable in my own skin" and "living an authentic life" are the same thing.
If you look at the bullet list just above, you will see what I mean. That list is also the definition of living an authentic life that I love.
Starting January 1st, I am launching the Authentic Action Academy.
The aim of the program is to teach you how to use tapping so that you too feel comfortable in your skin and empowered to live an authentic life.
Every month I will teach you advanced tapping tools to get more out tapping AND tap in such a way that you take daily action towards creating a life that you truly love.
To kick this off in January, I am teaching the Authentic Action Framework. This process will guide you to:
- Design the authentic life you want to create (in all areas of your life)
- Clearly name the steps that need to be taken to create that life
- Identify the hidden resistance holding you back
- Learn how to tap to clear that resistance
The Authentic Action Framework class will be taught in a 2½-hour session twice in
January. You can attend either or both sessions, and you will have access to recordings of both.
There will also be four Q&A sessions in January on Zoom, so that once you have had a chance to try the framework out in your daily life, we can help you with the parts that presented unexpected challenges.
To encourage you to check out the Authentic Action Academy, I am offering you a free copy of the Tapping Action Journal. All you have to do is pay $10 for the shipping and handling.
And YES, we will ship it anywhere in the world!
That means for only $10 you will receive:
- The Tapping Action Journal
- The Authentic Action Framework 2½-hour training session
- 4½ hours of Q&A sessions where you can have all your questions answered after you have tried out the framework in your daily life
- Recordings of the trainings and Q&A sessions
- The
entire First Action, Best Action archive (that includes 25 hours of training and 35 tapping tools)
Are you ready?
The question is, "Are you ready to be supremely comfortable in your own skin?"
Do you want to feel so comfortable with who you are in the world that you might just start dancing for no other reason than it feels good in the moment?
Do you want to make steady, incremental steps on your healing and transformation journey so that you are not only putting in the work, but you are enjoying long term results that last?
I have been working on the Authentic Action Academy program for months and I can't wait to share it with you!
You can try the program out, learn the Authentic Action Framework, and keep the Tapping Action Journal for just $10.
You have nothing to lose. It really is a no-brainer!
