Good morning,
When it comes to writing stories, one of the frameworks that fiction writers often use is called "The Hero's Journey".
The idea of The Hero's Journey comes from studying the stories and myths throughout human history, many of which share the same basic narrative arc.
In over-simplified terms, it looks like this:
- There is a call to
adventure
- The call is refused
- The call is eventually taken up
- There is learning and a struggle
- Then success
- Finally a return home
Once you know the structure, you see it repeated in many legends and stories.
One of the key parts in The Hero's Journey is when, early on in the story, the main character meets a mentor. Think Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars, Dumbledore in Harry Potter, or Glenda the Good Witch in The Wizard of Oz.
Before the journey can be undertaken, wisdom and guidance is needed.
It is no different in our own lives. Every success that I have had is the result of the guidance and wisdom I have received along the way from experienced mentors and teachers.
This week in the podcast I teach you a tool that I use to access the wisdom of mentors, even when I can't ask them
questions directly. It is a simple tool that I use all the time, and you can too.

I would love to hear how this works for you AND what you learned from the mentors in your life,
