Good morning,
On the most basic level, the subconscious mind wants to keep us safe.
I know this is an idea that I write about a lot! That is because most of the work I do with my clients is around fears that exist because the subconscious mind tends to work too hard to keep us safe.
The subconscious mind does this by referring to our past experiences where things didn't go as planned, trying to figure out what went wrong, and then
creating rules to keep us safe in the future.
It is much like a child who burns their hand on a hot stove. They learn the lesson that the glowing red thing in the kitchen is dangerous.
This is great…except
when it is not.
Sometimes, the subconscious mind learns a lesson that is neither true nor useful. For example, if you were a child that got stuck between floors for a few minutes in an elevator, your subconscious mind might conclude that all elevators are dangerous and must be avoided at all costs.
Much of the work we do with tapping is identifying the fears held in our subconscious mind and recalibrating them so that they are accurate.
In working with clients for close to two decades, I have realized that there is one word that creates these over-functioning fears living in the
subconscious mind. That word is "too".
The reason that word can impact us so deeply is because of the way it is used by others to describe our actions and how we are in the world.
We can be told that we are:
- too loud
- too
quiet
- too dramatic
- too emotional
- too demanding
- too needy
- too passive
When the subconscious mind hears others describe us in such terms, it concludes that we are doing something wrong or bad, which is dangerous because it risks rejection by those close to us.
This
week in the podcast I am doing a deeper dive into how the word "too" impacts us emotionally and, more importantly, I share a tapping process to help to clear those fears and limiting beliefs that have been created around being "too something".
I even lead you through the entire tapping process, so you can just tap along with me.

This is such a powerful process that a few weeks ago I led a small group of my students through almost three hours of tapping and clearing using this one tool.
If you have
ever been told you are "too something", then this is a must-listen,
