Good morning,
For some reason, I have been very distractible in the last few weeks.
I'd be sitting at my computer working away on a project…and then the next thing I knew, I was scrolling through one of my social media feeds.
I would catch myself and force myself to get back to work, only to find myself back on my phone looking at a dating app fifteen minutes later. Or looking at my emails…or browsing an online shop…or checking the
weather…or anything except concentrating on my work!
In the past, I would have been frustrated at myself for my lack of focus.
But instead of getting irritated, I got curious and asked myself, "This
is interesting…I wonder why I keep doing this?"
So, I decided to do a little experiment.
Every time I felt the urge to seek some kind of diversion, I did sixty seconds of tapping.
AND I didn't just tap. I also noticed what was going on in my body. I paid attention to what I was feeling right as I started tapping and took note of the cascade of thoughts flying through my mind.
It was such an eye-opening experience!
I learned a lot about myself and I have added an essential tool to my healing and transformational tool box.
What was most surprising is, after doing this for about ten days, about 90% of my urge to seek distraction just went away. It was like a
switch had been flipped in my brain.
This week in the podcast I share all the details of the process, what I learned, and, most importantly, how you too can add this to your daily life.
It was so helpful for me and I'd love everyone to try it
for themselves.
