Good morning,
Every time I sit down to tap, I do so with the expectation that it will help me to feel better.
After all, that is why I am tapping!
It does not always mean that I will feel fabulous or like I am walking on sunshine or believe that the world is now perfect.
Even knowing that I
cannot solve all my problems with a round of tapping, I firmly believe that small improvements can make a difference in the moment and help me to make better choices.
But it doesn't always work out like that...
Sometimes, I feel worse when I tap.
Usually this happens when I am tapping on a past event or choices I have made that didn't work out well. As I review the past, I am confronted with my mistakes and the times when my emotions got the better of me, and it seems clear that my present circumstances would be better if I had acted differently in the
past.
So, instead of feeling better, I start to beat myself up…and I feel much worse and that derails my tapping session.
The more I tap, the worse I feel, and the worse I feel, the harder it is for me to keep tapping.
This creates three problems:
- Because of the emotional ambush, I haven't made any progress with the issues at hand, and I stop tapping
- I feel worse in the moment, meaning I am less likely to make good choices
- I am less likely to tap for this issue in the future because if feels like a waste of time
In this week's podcast, I share exactly how I get my tapping back on track in this situation. Listen to the instructions in the podcast so you can do the same in your own healing work.
