Good morning,
I think something most humans have in common is the existence of the internal critical voice.
You know, that little voice inside your head that is so good at pointing out everything you have done wrong, every standard you have failed to meet, and every time you have let yourself or others down.
It picks and picks away at you, as if nagging you enough will ensure that you never make a wrong choice
again.
Instead, it achieves just the opposite!
It beats you into submission.
It discourages you.
It wears down your will to take positive action.
Years ago, I realized I was allowing my critical voice to get the better of me. Not only was I beating myself up, but I was doing it out aloud.
One of my oldest and dearest friends, Brad, said something to me I have never forgotten that stopped my critical voice in its tracks.
In that moment, most people would have said, "Gene you are being too hard on yourself."
That is a nice sentiment, but it would not have produced any change. If someone tells me I'm being too hard on myself, my critical voice usually pipes up with "I am not being too hard...I'm not being hard enough."
Luckily for me, that is not what Brad said.
Instead, he said something surprising that shut my critical voice down and created healing.
In this week's podcast I share Brad's wise words with you and how you can use them with tapping to short-circuit the critical voice in your head.

I would love to hear how your critical voice responds to this tapping,
