Good morning,
A key focus in the Tapping Mastery Blueprint is the importance of having a clear understanding of what you would like to achieve with tapping before you tap.
Having this understanding means you are more likely to tap because you don't feel lost AND you are more likely to see results because you know what you want to achieve.
Sometimes when we are tapping we are looking for big change (eliminating a
crippling belief) and sometimes we are looking for something smaller (reducing overwhelm in the middle of a busy day).
When it comes to our emotional experience, I like to look at the change I am trying to create through the three lenses of feeling, state, and identity. Here are simple definitions of each of them:
Feeling – A feeling is a short-term emotional reaction to something that happens, like feeling happy when you get a compliment.
State – A state is a temporary way of being
that lasts longer than a feeling, like being in a focused or stressed mood for a few hours.
Identity – An identity is how you see yourself over time, like believing you are a kind person or a leader, no matter what feelings or states you experience.
As tappers, we lean towards focusing on the first and the last in that list. We focus on feeling when we are trying to get through a moment; we focus on identity when we are making big changes in our lives.
We generally pay less attention to our state but I think it is worth tapping to
change it, and worth doing so regularly.
When we tap to change our state to being playful, calm, grounded, curious, or focused, to name just a few possibilities, moving through our day is so much easier.
During this week's Wednesday with
Gene live stream I am going to teach you the process I use to shift my state to one that is most useful and how to make sure it is not just a fleeting change, but becomes part of my disposition.
The training will take place at 11 AM Eastern time on Wednesday, February 26th.
As always, the Wednesday live streams are free to attend.
You can join us live or watch the recording afterwards.
