Good morning,
As you know, I just returned from running a tapping training on the Gold Coast of Australia.
The trip was amazing. Because it is such a long journey we made sure we made the most of the trip.
We met koalas (see below), fed kangaroos, watched Australian sheep dogs herd sheep, snorkeled, went whale watching, hung out with amazing friends, ate great food, and the list goes on!
Upon arriving home, when friends and family asked me about the trip I was excited to share the highlights. (I got to pet a koala!!!!!!!!!!)
All of that makes sense. We think of the past or telling the stories of our life it is almost always the highlight.
It is the grand moments...
The unexpected moments...
The surprising outcome...
The transformative experiences...
What we don't do is tell the stories of the simple and mundane. If we do tell the stories of the simple and mundane it is because they are exceptional in some way. For example, I will never forget the dry raise scone I ate while sitting on
the floor of a Belfast hostel that I devoured at 3 AM in the morning.
It was the setting and the context that made it special.
When we think about our healing journey we will often couch it in similar ways. We tell the stories of the speaker,
the book, or the tapping session that changed our lives. Or we talk about the insight about the meaning of our life that changed the way we saw everything from that moment forward.
The reason we tell these types of stories is because they are grand, memorable, and meaningful. The problem is they don't tell the whole store.
My trip to Australia also included long naps in the afternoon. Unmemerable but necessary.
My healing journey isn't just those grand transformative moments. It is also the daily tapping work on my to-do list, my willingness to push a little harder when I have nothing left, and my
willingness to take a deep breath, trying again in the face of daily frustration.
If we only think about transformation in grand gestures then we miss most of our healing journey. If we only strive to have these outsized moments we will mostly stay stuck.
I love the big and grand and powerful, but we also need to be present to and focus on the smaller (seemingly trivial) steps in our healing journey.
This week in the podcast I explore the idea of how it is easy to get caught up in the magic of profound healing moments and miss the daily work. When we (and I use we because I do this too) only focus on the
grand gesture we miss most of the healing that is available to us.
In the episode I share 3 simple ideas you can add to your tapping will help you to stay grounded in your work and keep you focused in a way that is going to make sure you get most out of your tapping.

I know you are going to love this and mastering these simple ideas will insure you will get more out of each round of tapping,

PS: Have you ever sat down to tap and not know where to start? You know you want better, but the first tapping phrase feels clumsy with the second feeling even more awkward. Tapping feels like a waste of time because you don't know what to say so you stop. It doesn't have to be this week. On Sept. 28th I am teaching Precision Tapping which is an approach which will make sure you always know where to start when you are tapping. Finding a
useful starting point will transform your healing practice. Find full details here: http://precisiontapping.com/
