Good morning,
Today I would like to share with you what might be the weirdest, least-talked-about reason you’re not tapping as much as you should:
Tapping works!
It might sound odd to claim we don't tap because it works. But it is true and there are two very real ways that tapping success holds us back from tapping more.
The first reason is something you have probably heard of before, which is the possible downside to healing and making progress in our lives that can show up in lots of ways.
For some people, there are benefits to staying stuck in the same spot. Healing might mean someone risking their
disability payments, or giving up the care and attention given to them by loved ones when they are unwell.
For others, success has a downside. If I am financially successful, then everyone in my family might expect me to support them.
This
type of struggle is often referred to as a secondary gain, and it is something we talk about a lot in the transformational space. (As a matter of fact, in the last week I have interviewed six different tapping practitioners/teachers and four of them talked about this exact problem.)
The second reason that success stops us is super sneaky and much less talked
about: You stop tapping because you feel good!
You will notice I didn't say healed and I didn't say transformed. I just said good.
Feeling better is an awesome outcome, but in most cases it isn't
what we are really looking for.
Think about it like this…let's pretend that you have a strained ligament in your shoulder that's really interfering with your quality of life because the pain is so intense.
So you take some pain meds. Boom!
The pain is relieved and you feel great. You are no longer in pain, which means you are able to move your arm and do everything you need to do.
This is all fine...until the pain meds wear off.
You are right back where you started!
The crippling pain returns and you can hardly move.
The exact same thing can happen with your tapping practice!
Tapping does such a good job of taking the edge off whatever discomfort we are feeling, the moment we feel better, part of us wants to move on.
Your subconscious thinks, "Why would I waste any more time with this? I feel so much better!"
AND this doesn't just happen for physical pain. It also applies to emotional pain, limiting beliefs, and past trauma.
Because tapping brings rapid relief, you think the job is done. In reality, the deepest part of the issue is still lurking below, unresolved.
Simply taking the edge off of an emotion in the moment can be the exact outcome we are looking for when we are tapping. For me, those moments only happen in the middle of trying to get something done. For example, getting over the frustration of my internet going down in the middle of a busy day so that I can get back to work.
But these moments are the exception.
When you are tapping you are usually trying to get more than relief. You want deep and lasting healing.
Tapping is a brilliant tool for providing instant relief in the moment, but I want you
to get so much more out of your tapping.
Getting relief is amazing.
But it is not enough!
I want you to
experience deep, profound, lasting healing and transformation.
That is one of the reasons I created the Precision Tapping training. Over the last few days I have shared with you how you will have more powerful results with your tapping when you know exactly where to start.
Not only does the training teach the best way to start with any issue, but it also guides you via a framework so you stay with the issue long enough to move past relief and into deep healing.
The answer to deeper healing is not just to tap for longer.
To create powerful transformation you need to know what to focus on when you get past the surface level emotion. By the end of the Precision Tapping program you will have the confidence to know not only where to start but how to stay on track for your entire tapping session.
As an added
bonus it will also help you to know when to stop. Like I said, the answer isn't just tapping more and for longer, but instead to approach tapping strategically so you are focusing on the right issues for the correct amount of time.
The Zoom training is happening this Sunday, September 28th. In addition to the training I have
created a treasure trove of bonuses and support material (including full recordings of the training) to ensure you’re not just learning it live, but have everything you need to lock it in and make it second nature.
There are only 100 seats available for this training, so I encourage you to secure your seat now: https://PrecisionTapping.com
If you are looking to move past relief to deep healing, then grab your spot before it’s gone.
