Good morning,
When I was in fourth or fifth grade I went through a compulsory program in our school district that taught us how to make better decisions.
From what I recall, there were two main parts: how to make good decisions and how to make those decisions in the face of peer pressure.
One of the skills we were taught was to make a list of pros and cons for a choice we were facing. Not the most revolutionary exercise, but
useful enough that I still regularly recommend it to my clients, and one I use myself all the time.
These sorts of lists do have limitations, namely that just because you have made your list and have more clarity, it does not automatically mean you will make the best choice.
After going through the exercise of listing the pros and cons, your choices will usually fall into three main categories.
First, when you are picking between something that is good and something that is bad. This is a fairly logical choice.
Second, when you are picking between two desirable options. You might experience some FOMO because you are missing out on something good, but in the end this can be a fun conundrum because you know you will end up with something you want.
And then there is the third category where you are
deciding between two options that both have downsides. This is when it gets really hard. You could be choosing between staying in a coaching program and getting deeper in debt, or leaving the program and not finishing your certification. You could be facing a painful medical procedure which will leave you in bed for a number of weeks, or be stuck with daily pain.
When
you have to choose between two options that both feel bad, you will come up against a lot of resistance to taking action because no matter what you do, there is a downside. The longer this resistance drags on, the longer you go without making a decision (which is a choice in itself), and you are unable to move forward in any direction.
This week in the podcast, I walk
you through a straightforward tapping process that will help you to take action when you are caught between two tough choices.
This is a process that I use myself at least twice a month.

I love the simplicity of this approach and I can't wait for you to try it out,
