Good morning,
Fear is our most primal emotion and one that governs many of our human responses.
For that reason, when I am working with clients we often start by addressing the subconscious fears that underlie their issue.
On a basic level, fear works to protect us – I am sure you are familiar with flight, flight, or freeze (and also fawn and flop), which are all defense responses.
We fight to defend ourselves, we flee to get away from danger, and we freeze so the danger can't see us.
When tapping for fear we are usually aiming to dial down our response. This is a great starting point, but it is only the starting
point.
In the last few months, I have recognized that there is a second level to fear. Instead of asking only if something is dangerous or not, the next level is to gauge the perceived danger through the lenses of magnitude and probability.
This second perspective gives us the opportunity to understand our fear in new ways and an additional lever we can pull to create change.
In this week's podcast, I explain how I use the concepts of magnitude and probability when I am tapping on fear.

These simple ideas will make tapping for fear more effective. I wish that I had known about them years ago!
I'd love to hear how this changes your approach to tapping for fear,
