Good morning,
Some years ago, I attended a marketing training course where I was introduced to the concept of "choice paralysis".
Here is how it was presented:
Customers think they want as much choice as possible because the more choice they have, the more likely they will find exactly what they want. But too much choice comes with a couple of problems. First, when we are choosing, we are worried about
making the wrong choice, which can lead to us not choosing at all. Then, after we do choose something, we think less about what we chose and more about lamenting the options we did not choose.
The bottom line...the more choices customers have, the less likely they are to act. And if they do act, the more likely they are to regret the choice they made.
I think it is fascinating how our fear of making the wrong choice dominates our thinking, and this is true not just when we are buying a product or service. I hear about this phenomenon all the time from my clients.
- It shows up as anxiety about choices they have made and if they will work out well
- They talk about their resistance to making new choices
because they might "screw things up again"
- They feel deep regret about their mistakes because "they should have known better" and made a different decision
- Always feeling like everyone else is decisive, whereas they feel stuck on the fence
- Staying trapped in routines that might once have served them, but no longer do (and they know they are safe sticking with the familiar)
- Spending more time blaming themselves than they do tapping to create change
- Ignoring
or doubting their intuition because they "can't explain this gut feeling to others" and feel judged for not having clear explanations for their choices
These patterns become a self-perpetuating loop. The more we experience these feelings, the more stuck we feel. The more stuck we are, the more we doubt our choices. The more we doubt our choices, the harder it is to take decisive action.
The fear can creep into our tapping practice. We find ourselves in a moment where we know we need to tap, but we don't know exactly what to do.
Are we supposed to tap on the emotion, the resistance, or a memory?
If we tap on emotions, which one do we start with? (Because there always seems to be more than just one emotion)
Do you do inner child work, use the movie technique, or just tap while stating
affirmations?
Which words do we use when we tap? (Because we are never as clear or as clever as the practitioner we work with)
The more the questions mount, the more we fear we are going to do it wrong. We might tap
for a round or two, then we start to feel silly…and we give up.
This pattern repeats itself a few times until we stop tapping altogether.
AND then the only time we think of tapping is when we are beating ourselves up for not tapping.
I don't want you to be stuck in this cycle!!!
In my own life, I have found that limiting and naming the number of options makes moving forward so much easier.
For example:
- To help us create content for Tapping Q&A, I keep a list of issues my clients and students are struggling with
- To help me take a break during the day, I have list of exercises that relax and rejuvenate me
- When I'm looking for something to watch on television or at the movies, I refer to a list of recommendations from friends
- When I'm trying to decide where to go
out to eat, I consult the list of my favorite restaurants I keep on Yelp
When I do this, I am not limiting my choices, but actually making it easier for me to make choices that will work out well for me.
You will notice I didn't say the perfect choice or even the best choice.
BUT I don't need perfect or best. I just want something I can enjoy without regrets!
The same is true for my tapping practice. I have been tapping for close to two decades and have taken more training courses than I can count. At this point, I would be willing to bet
that I know well north of fifty different approaches I could take when it comes to tapping for an issue.
If I tried to wade through all of these options each time I sat down to tap, I would never tap.
To make my daily tapping practice
simpler, when I sit down to tap, I ask myself the same two simple questions and then I choose one of five tapping approaches.
And the best part of these five approaches is they each have their own application. After asking myself the two questions, it is obvious which one of the five approaches will work best for my issue.
Because of this process, I tap more often, I tap with more clarity, I get longer lasting results, and I am significantly more satisfied emotionally with the results of the tapping.
That is why I created the Tapping Mastery Blueprint. I wanted to
offer a simple, straightforward training to teach you the two questions, the five applications, and how to apply them right away in your daily life.
Normally this program would cost $397 but this weekend I am offering it for just $97!
The training is happening live on Saturday, January 24th and Sunday, January 25th.
You can attend live OR you can watch the video version of the training at a self-directed pace that is most convenient for you.
A challenge and a guarantee
I truly believe in the power of the Tapping Mastery Blueprint and I want you to experience it first hand, so I have created a simple 30-day challenge for you.
My challenge is this: after you take the Tapping Mastery Blueprint training, every time you sit down to tap, the first thing I want you to do is use what you have learned in the training.
If you do this, I believe you will tap more often, you will tap for longer each time
you tap, and you will get better results than you have had in the past.
If you don't, I will refund your registration.
This means you win, no matter what!
Either you learn the Tapping Mastery Blueprint for only $97 (instead of the $397 the training normally costs) and get the best results of your tapping life OR you receive a full refund after you have learned a new way to approach tapping.
I would love you to join me this
Saturday and Sunday for the training. It is the result of more than two decades of experience and training and I can't wait for you to see how powerful it is.
