Dear ,

Now that the time change has happen here (and I believe world wide by end of the week) it has been really nice to get out in the evening. I am currently working my way through "Heal Your Mind; Rewire Your Brain" by sitting out side at a local cafe enjoying a nice glass of red each night. Remember we can find our way to peace and healing by working our way to calm and stillness.

Do yourself a favor. Get outside tonight. Enjoy the evening sun, drink in the fresh air, and maybe enjoy a short walk.

If you didn't get a chance to check out last weeks "The 11 Best of the Last 6 Months" you really should.

1) New Aritcles
This week we have four great new resources. First, there is a lovely article by Jondi Whitis on how to care for yourself when you care for so many other people. Even if you are not a practitioner you should read it. Second we have a new podcast. It is an interview with Jesse Jacobs who runs a number of tea shops the San Francisco area, but we don't talk much about tea. Instead we talk about his other passion, creating ritual. It is a great interview.

We also have two new TapAlong audios. One is for when our plate is too full and the other is about our need to seek attention from others.

(links to all four can be found below)

2) Looking for help with something that is dogging you?
This week I spent sometime on the phone with the practitioner I use. It was great. The work isn't done, but I can feel the shifts happening. I know I couldn't have made this much progress in such a short period of time on my owh. Let me know if you would like some help with something that you just can't seem to get past.

"Having worked with Gene on and off for several years now, I can speak with confidence about his ability to guide me through a wide variety of issues and I continue to grow and learn from him, both personally and professionally. Gene offers knowledge, respect, understanding, and the perfect touch of humor. Gene's website is like a treasure chest of resources! Now that I know him a little better, I can see that they are just a sneak peek into his valuable background and abilities." Sue, California

When Caregivers Are Careworn
All of us are caregivers at one time or another, and as energy practitioners, we're certainly caregivers, but what happens to those among us who choose this as a full-time vocation? Or those among us suddenly thrust into this role as a long-term situation?

NEW & FEATURED AUDIOS

Podcast #56: Ritual, Daily Routine, And Find Peace w/ Jesse Jacobs
Today's podcast is an interview with Jesse Jacobs and is little different. I first heard Jesse interviewed by Dan Benjamin on the show "The Pipeline" which is business show. Dan was interviewing Jesse about the tea house that he runs in San Francisco. What caught my attention was the last five minutes of the interview in which he started to talk about the power of ritual in how he has created work that he loves and a life that feeds him.

In this interview we spend a little time talking about how moved for being a techie to created a space where people could relax, be at peace, and make real connections with other. The bulk of the interview is spent talking about this idea of ritual. We talk about the power of ritual, how it can ground us, and how we can add a daily ritual to our life.

TapAlong: Seeking Attention
"It is healthier to recognize we are desperate for attention than to deny we are." R. Hudson

We all want attention. We want attention from our loved ones. We want attention from new friends. We want attention from people in power. It is okay that we want attention. However, it becomes dangerous when we start to judge our worth and value off of how much attention we get from others. In the end it is healthier to recognize we are desperate for attention than to deny we are. When we recognize the types of attention we want and why we want them, then we are able to move to a healthier place. If we deny that we are craving attention then we are going to keep acting out to get it, but doing so in a very subconscious way.

TapAlong: When Our Plate Is Too Full
Life seems to get busier and busier. We add more things to our lives and others seem to heap more things into our lives. At a certain point we feel like we are behind and are never going to catch up. The more behind we feel the more overwhelmed we feel. The more overwhelmed we feel the more stress we add, which makes us feel more overwhelmed. It is possible to take a step back, to take a deep breath, and to get rid of some of the things that have landed on our plate.
