Good Morning!

I love my readers (yes, I am talking about you). You are some of the most caring and giving people I know.

You see obstacles, needs, and suffering in other people's lives and you spring into action.

I love that about you.

AND that frustrates the heck out of me!

The reason your love, compassion, and concern frustrate me is because you are wonderful at extending it to others BUT you are not so good at giving that same care to yourselves. Or when you do anything for yourself it has to be perfect so you never act because you can't achieve that unrealistic standard.

You know I am right about this!

OR I know that I am not always good at doing this for myself and I am assuming you struggle with it as well.

This week I have two great ways to respond the the issue of not being gentle and caring with ourselves (and all the emotional blocks that come up when we try).

First, I have some thoughts on what to do when demanding perfection from ourselves stands in the way of taking action.

The really cool thing about this is that it came from one of my clients. I love the insights my clients come to on their own. I love it even more when they share them with me.

Hear about my client's simple insight and how you can use the same approach right now: http://tappingqanda.com/?p=9170

Second, I had the chance to talk with EFT Master Loretta Sparks about the struggles of self-care. At one point in the interview she used an analogy about how we care for others versus how we care for ourselves. She pointed out we have huge shipping docks where we are constantly sending things out, but we have a very small receiving dock (and maybe no receiving dock at all) when it comes to letting care come to us.

In the interview Loretta shares a number of really useful tools that you can try today.

Listen to the whole thing: http://tappingqanda.com/?p=9165

As always, let me know what I can do for you by just hitting reply to this note.

I Don't Want You Always To Be Impressive - One of the main reasons we hold ourselves back from taking action is our need to be perfect. We want everything we do to be great AND we want everyone around us to think we are great. Often if even the smallest thought exists that others aren't going to see us (and everything we do) as great we don't take action. Here is a simple way to respond.

Struggling To Give Self-Care w/ Loretta Sparks - In this interview with EFT Master Loretta Sparks we talk about some of the most common reasons that caring people have such a hard time taking care of themselves. We also talk about a number of simple tools and steps that can be implemented right away to make it easier to care for yourself.
