Good morning!
A funny thing happened to me this week.
I turned into a giraffe. OK, so I didn't really turn into a giraffe, but my profile picture on Facebook did.
The fact that my profile picture was changed isn't very interesting. If you were on Facebook this week I'm sure you saw lots of your friends' profile pictures (and maybe even your own) change into a giraffe.
What was most interesting, at least to me, was the smugness I felt as I sat in my favorite Brooklyn coffee shop just moments before I had to change my profile picture. I didn't realize how smug I was feeling until my confidence was crushed.
It was in that moment that I realized that the times I run into the most trouble are the times where I am most confident that I am right. When I am uncertain about my belief I am thoughtful, questioning, and open to new possibility.
When I am supremely confident I am closed-minded and disinterested in new ideas.
It is not a big deal if you are making a bet about whether or not you will change your Facebook profile picture.
But it IS a big deal when we are talking about tapping to find core issues.
This week I have for you the lessons I learned about my own over-confidence and three things you can do to make sure your confidence in "knowing" your core issue doesn't slow the healing process.
Check out these three things you can do right now: http://tappingqanda.com/?p=9300
As always, let me know what I can do to be helpful.
