Good morning,

A few days every week I work out of a co-working space. For those that don't know, a co-working space is an office where you rent a desk, not a full office. This means my desk is in a room with seven other businesses.

On Monday I was catching up with "Larry" who also has a desk in my area. Larry was sharing with me how stressed he was because he was working on his start-up business, a number of freelance gigs he was doing on the side to pay his bills, and finishing up the research for his PhD.

He told how much he hates doing his graduate studies, so I asked him why he was still doing it.

He replied,"I always finish what I start!"

I asked him if he even finished the tasks he no longer needed.

He said, "If you quit one thing then you are giving yourself permission to quit others and you won't be successful."

I don't agree with this point of view.

In fact, I think the belief "I always finish what I start!" is counterproductive and at times even downright destructive.

Sometimes I start doing something and realize very quickly it isn’t the right task for me to be doing. Finishing what I start in those cases would be a complete waste of time and energy.

This week I have for you a tap-along audio and tapping script to help you release commitments that are no longer serving you.

Tap here: tappingqanda.com/300

I would love to hear about your struggle with letting go of commitments that are no longer helpful or healthy for you, and if this was useful!

Have a great day,

Gene

PS: This tapping is the perfect complement to last week's podcast. Last week we talked about setting intentions in a way that is healthy. Picking up and releasing commitments can be tricky. Using these two audios (or tapping scripts) in concert will make taking action easier. You can find last week's podcast and tapping script right here: http://tappingqanda.com/299
