In February of 2021 I hit emotional rock bottom.
I had spent months and hundreds of hours on a project that I was passionate about. I believed it would make such a big difference in the lives of my clients that it brought me to tears of joy when thinking about it.
Then I shared the project with the world and it flopped.
AND I mean flopped in a big way.
I was devastated!
It sent me into an emotional funk for weeks. I kept going with my client work, but let everything else slide. I watched a lot of crap tv and took naps in the afternoon.
It wasn't the first time something like this had happened to me.
After a few weeks of wallowing in this mental temper tantrum, I decided enough was enough. I'd been there before so I knew what work I had to do in order to turn my mental state around and get out of my emotional funk.
I want to share the four-step process I used with you.
The process works particularly well for when you have hit emotional rock bottom, but it also works any time you feel down.

You might be thinking "Well, I'm not in a major emotional funk right now, so I'll just bookmark this and come back to it when I need it."
The problem with this type of thinking is that when you are emotionally down it is hard to think clearly and much harder to remember where you saved useful tools.
