Good morning,
This week I have two free resources to help you in your tapping journey that may feel somewhat contradictory.
The first resource is an article and tapping script on why I have given up on self-improvement, but I am still tapping every day.
I think it's easy to get lost in the weeds of trying constantly to improve yourself. If this becomes your sole focus, it can actually be harder to be happy and healthy.
In other words, focusing too much on self-improvement can impede your progress to a happier and healthier life.

Second, I have a podcast interview with my friend Mary Ayers. In this interview Mary and I talk about how we can tell if tapping is making a difference and if we are improving the quality of our lives.
Determining our progress is more complicated than simply looking at a SUD scale. Mary has three simple ways to measure progress that I use with my clients all the time!

It might seem contradictory to say both that I have given up on self-improvement AND this is how to measure improvement. But in my mind these two ideas work together perfectly because they are both about forging a healthier relationship with the process of personal transformation.
These two tools will help you to approach your tapping in a way that isn't about addressing an emotion in the moment or reaching for some vague sense of improvement, but instead how you can use tapping to make your life better.
AND in the end, that is the goal: to have better.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on either or both of these approaches,
Gene
