Good morning,
In all areas of life there is this interesting game of telephone that is played, in which the same ideas are repeated over and over again. The more people say something, the more believable it becomes.
There are two that are super common in the world of self-help that I'm sure you have heard.
The first is that the subconscious mind doesn't hear the word not, which means that when you say "I don't want to do this" the subconscious mind hears "I want to do this." There is absolutely no evidence that this is true.
The second is the quote attributed to Albert Einstein, "Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics." Not only is there no evidence that Einstein ever said
this, the first known source of the quote is from April 2000, 45 years after his death.
This same phenomenon shows up when people are explaining why tapping works.
Over the years I have heard a number of "explanations" as to why tapping works and the reality is most of them aren't accurate.
On one hand it doesn't matter how tapping works. The fact that it works is enough.
On the other hand, when we are sharing tapping with others it can become problematic. If the explanation we are giving isn't true, we end up undermining the credibility of tapping (or even worse, our own credibility).
Fortunately, we are now more than two decades into research around tapping. We not only have proof that it works, but we are also starting to understand the mechanism behind why it works.
Recently, I had the chance to chat with David Feinstein, PhD, the Co-Author of The Promise of Energy Psychology, about what the research tells us about how and why tapping works.
As a tapper, I believe it is important we understand why tapping works.
First, understanding how it works makes it easier for us to get the most out of tapping. Second, we are able to share tapping in a more credible way with others, which will make it easier for them to try the tool and experience its benefits.
The part I love best about this interview is how David explains the research in such a simple way, making it accessible to non-scientists. After this short interview you will have a much better grasp of why tapping works.

This is one of those resources you should bookmark, so that when you encounter people who are sceptical about tapping, you can share it with them right away.
I know you will enjoy the interview,
Gene
PS: Don't forget we are only in the first week of the 5 AM Action Club. You can still join our tapping sessions every morning to start off your day in the best way possible. AND you don't have to show up live, but can watch the daily replays whenever you like. Full details
