Good afternoon,
If you have spent any amount of time consuming the content I create, then you know I don't think strong or negative emotions are our enemies.
Our emotions are just information, with each emotion sharing a different piece of information.
For example:
- fear = perceived danger
- envy = the world isn't fair and others are getting it better
- frustration = a need or desire is not being met
- anger = perceived attack
The goal of tapping isn't to "get rid of" our emotions, but instead to tune in to the information the emotion is carrying, and to translate that into something useful and actionable.
That is why I almost always include a phrase along the lines of "I appreciate that my system is sharing this information with me through my emotions" in my tapping.
You will notice in the previous sentence I used the word almost. That is because there is a pair of emotions that I find particularly challenging to deal with and they are shame and guilt.
When I experience shame or guilt, it feels as if there is acid burning me from the inside out.
To that end, this month's Art of Delivery Monthly class is on the lessons that we can learn from shame and guilt AND (most importantly) how to transform those emotions into something much more helpful.
The class is taking place at 12 noon Eastern time on Sunday, October 24th.
I will not only be teaching on the nature of guilt and shame, I'll also teach you a simple step-by-step process to help you:
- distinguish between shame and guilt (because they are different)
- understand why you are feeling that way
- learn a straightforward process designed to clear these two specific emotions
And you will get a chance to try out the tool in class.
In addition to the training on Sunday you will receive a recording of the class to download and keep. That means you can go back to it again and again OR you can still participate even if you can't make it live.
