Good morning,
In my high school introduction to psychology class everyone had to write a report on some psychological research.
My friend Kurt, a keen amateur cyclist, did a report on how mental attitude can impact an athlete's performance. The research showed that the higher the level of competition, the more the mental aspect played in success. This is because at the highest levels athletes are so comparable physically, it is their mental fortitude that sets them apart.
Even though we are not elite athletes, our mental state has a huge impact on our level of success. For example, even though we may be doing something we've done thousands of times before, when we need to be successful, we give in to the pressure and don't perform to the best of our ability.
My friend Dr. Tom Hanson is an expert on performance and much of his work is with top-level college and professional athletes.
This week he shares with us the tools and techniques he uses with these athletes to master their mental game in a way that can also help you to take more consistent action toward any goal that you are working towards.
In the conversation he shares how to:
- remove the thought or emotion that is making taking action harder
- find the right focus
- uncover the tappable issues standing in the way of your success
I love this conversation because it is super practical!
Take more consistent action now: http://tappingqanda.com/346
I hope you have a great day,
Gene
