Good morning,

When I am working with clients, I am often struck by the number of conversations we have about the issues and experiences they had as children that still impact them today.

Experiences in our family of origin show up in so many different ways...in our worldview, our perception of ourselves, and how we are impacted by the beliefs we formed in our early lives.

As I have these conversations, clients also share their concerns about how they are parenting their own children. As one of my clients put it, "I just know that someday they will be on a therapist's couch, trying to untangle the mess I helped to create."

In my experience, the parents who express these types of worries are the ones who are doing everything they can to ensure their children are happy and healthy, and that they will develop into emotionally intelligent adults.

This week I have a conversation with parenting expert Carrie Contey in which she explores the topic of how to do a better job as a parent. She isn't talking about a big, complex theory, but instead shares a worldview on parenting I've never heard before with some simple daily steps to make parenting easier and less stressful.

Based on Carrie's work I also cover how you can incorporate this into your daily tapping practice.

PS: This interview came about because the topic and speaker were recommended to me by a reader just like you. Let me know if there is anyone you would like to hear on the podcast.
