Good morning,

When I start working with a new client the first and most important concept I want them to understand is that we are not tapping to get rid of their emotions.

I know this might sound counterintuitive. When Gary Craig shared his version of tapping with the world he called it "Emotional Freedom Techniques" because after tapping we feel free of our negative emotions.

The real goal of tapping is not to be free of our emotions, but instead to have proportionate, well-informed emotions. We are not emotionless, but instead feeling our emotions and putting the information they give us to good use.

The problem is that for those of us who have done a lot of personal development work, we are hyper aware of our emotional state. We know how much work we have done to be healthier.

Whenever we experience strong emotions, it can feel as if we are failing. We think, "I have been doing all of the tapping work and I am still overcome with emotion. What am I doing wrong? Why don't I feel better? I am such a failure!"

This week I have a tap-along audio and printable tapping script to help you to stop beating yourself up for feeling your emotions.

This audio works as a standalone tapping session AND it is also the perfect way to set up tapping for bigger issues.
