click display imagesGood morning,

The main reason I started tapping was because I was trying to manage my social anxiety.

My particular version of social anxiety meant that I felt like a fraud and that I didn't have anything to offer the world.

The visual that went with these feelings was often of being someone's kid brother who was just tagging along and had to be tolerated by everyone, but didn't really belong. As long as I stayed out of everyone's way, it would be fine.

In working with my clients I have found that there is a common reason underlying feeling like a fraud. It's because of how we are comparing ourselves to those around us.

We know everything that is going on inside our own heads. We know our emotional state. We know our intentions and aspirations. Because of this, we also know when we are acting with fear and when life doesn't work out as we would have liked.

On the other hand, we know little to nothing about what the people around us are thinking or feeling. We only see their actions AND we assume they are acting without fear or inhibition.

When this happens, we are drawing an unfair comparison between our internal experience and the external experience of the people around us.

Of course we are going to feel like frauds if we are making this sort of comparison!

This week I have for you a tap-along audio and tapping script that is perfect for when you feel like a fraud.

I found that tapping on this issue daily was the most helpful, even when it wasn't at the front of my mind, knowing that when I was in the depth of feeling like a fraud, the last thing I would do is tap.

Even if you aren't experiencing feeling like a fraud at the moment, I encourage you to do this tapping for a few days; I think you will be surprised at what you uncover.
