Good morning,
It is amazing how the conversation around gratitude has evolved over the last 15 years.
We have come to realize that gratitude is a powerful emotion. Gratitude has gone from being something that people expressed from time to time...to the transformational community seeing it as a helpful practice...to a mainstream recognition of the power of gratitude.
So much so that I recently helped to produce a health podcast that dedicated a full episode to the medical benefits of gratitude and giving thanks.
At the same time, there is a problem with gratitude.
There are no issues with feeling gratitude, but a specific type of resistance often comes up if we make gratitude our focus.
It plays out like this:
- We are thankful for what we have.
- Then we make a statement about how we would like our life to be better.
- That leads to a subconscious part of us thinking that wanting more means we are being ungrateful for what we already have.
- These conflicting ideas get in the way of us working towards something better.
It doesn't have to be this way!
We can work toward making our lives better AND be thankful at the same time.
This week I have a tap-along audio and tapping script to help you both to be grateful and to strive for better at the same time.
Tap-along: http://tappingqanda.com/410
This is one of those unexpected and hidden reasons behind why we may fail to take action and can lead to self-sabotage. It's important to address it as it's more prevalent that you might believe.
I hope this is helpful,
Gene
