click display imagesGood morning,

I am going to share something controversial. And I'm not doing this as some sort of marketing ploy to get you riled up about a topic.

This is something I wholeheartedly believe and tell my clients all the time:

There is no such thing as intuition.

OR I don't believe in intuition in the way the majority of people understand it.

When most people talk about intuition they are talking about this magical insight that shows up out of nowhere trying to give guidance. Sometimes it is there...and sometimes not. But its absence or presence is out of our control, as if in some special moments we are kissed by the grace of the angels.

That isn't a useful way to think about intuition. In fact, I believe that if you think about intuition in those terms, you're undermining a much more powerful skill.

This week's audio explores the topic of intuition and covers:

  • What I think intuition actually is
  • How to get the most out of it
  • How to cultivate it so that it's even more powerful

Note that I'm not saying that giving credit to intuition is wrong, but instead there is a more powerful way to think about those "gut feelings" you experience from time to time.

Because I am challenging the common definition of intuition, I would really love your feedback on my thoughts. What do you agree with, what do you disagree with, and what is unclear?

I am always trying to deepen my understanding of the human experience and would very much appreciate your feedback on this one!

I hope you are having a great Thursday,

Gene
