Recently I was working with one of my long-term clients and instructed her to tap on the liver point.

My client had no idea what I was talking about. And this isn't someone who is new to tapping, she has been doing it for a few years.

It turns out that the liver point was never covered in her tapping instruction.

This got me thinking about how the basic recipe for tapping has been pared down over time as some of its original elements fell by the wayside for the sake of simplicity.

I thought this would be the perfect time to revisit those forgotten pieces.

This week I have 4 of my favorites for you that are no longer taught by most practitioners.

Check them out here: http://tappingqanda.com/?p=10019

Not only can we learn from the history of tapping, but we can also learn from other protocols.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is very much a cousin protocol to tapping. There is much we can learn from the structural rigor of the EMDR process.

This week I have a conversation with Masha Bennett who is both a tapping practitioner and trained in EMDR. She compares and contrasts the two.

Check out the conversation: http://tappingqanda.com/?p=10012

As always, let me know what I can do to be helpful.

PS: On Monday I sent out a note telling you the story about the best thing I ever wrote. If you missed it you can check it out right here: http://tappingqanda.com/?p=10021

Tapping Tools You Might Have Forgotten About - Over the years the tapping protocol has become increasingly simple. I think this is a good thing, but there are still plenty of good uses for elements we don't often encounter. Here are some of my favorite tools from the past and how you can use them.

Compare and Contrast EMDR v. EFT - EMDR is a cousin protocol to tapping and there are many things that we can learn on how to tap better by looking at how EMDR works. In this interview Masha Bennett talks about her experience with both and how they inform her work.
