Good morning,
My clients, readers, and listeners often have in common the fact that they are loving, caring people.
I love this about them!
But sometimes those who are the most loving and the most caring are the ones who are the worst at taking care of themselves.
This week I have two resources to help respond to that need for better self-care.
First, one of the biggest challenges with creating a new habit is when after seeing a little progress not only do you backslide, but you end up making worse choices than before. For example you are working on changing your diet, you are doing so well for a few days, and then BOOM! You devour everything in sight.
You are not alone in this! It is called an "extinction burst" and you can do something about it.
Read about what an "extinction burst" is and how you can tap for one: http://tappingqanda.com/?p=10277
Second, it can be difficult when people know that you are a good listener and a caring person. Even without consciously thinking about it, sometimes they use us as a dumping ground for their negative emotions.
Creating boundaries can be hard. On one hand we want to be helpful. On the other hand we can't always be other people’s emotional sick bags.
I had the chance to chat with Rue Hass about how we can create healthy boundaries without resorting to blocking everyone out.

I hope you take the time to use this week's resources. You don't take good enough care of yourself! I want you to be happy and healthy and this is great place to start.
As always, let me know how I can be helpful.

Getting Past The Extinction Burst - There is a very specific reason why we often backslide after making progress towards a goal. It is called an extinction burst. Read about why these happen, how you can respond, and the tapping you can do to prevent them from sabotaging your goals.
