Good morning,
Here is a little Shakespeare to start your day.
Iago:
O, beware, my lord, of jealousy;
It is the green-ey'd monster, which doth mock
The meat it feeds on. That cuckold lives in bliss,
Who, certain of his fate, loves not his wronger:
But O, what damnèd minutes tells he o'er
Who dotes, yet doubts, suspects, yet strongly loves!
Othello:
O misery!
Othello Act 3, scene 3, 165–171
Jealousy is such an insidious and disempowering emotion. It is less about what others have than about our own perceived lack.
When I get caught up in jealousy it can be tough to shift because it turns into a giant pity party in my head.
A few weeks ago I was a conference and experienced waves of jealousy sweeping over me as I watched someone younger and much more successful than I am saying the same things I would have said if I had been presenting on that stage.
Luckily, I was able to get a hold of the emotion before it spun out of control. But that is not always the case.
This week I have a tap-along for dealing with jealousy.
Tap along here: http://tappingqanda.com/?p=10935
Not only do we feel better when we’ve dealt with our jealousy, but it also puts us in a position to make better choices and move towards our goals.
Let me know how this tapping works for you.
Blessings,
Gene
