Good morning,Click Disply Image

I wonder if I am alone on this or if you do it too.

I will be in the middle of a productive morning. I am feeling positive and getting lots done. With each task completed I triumphantly go to my to-do list and cross it off. As more tasks are crossed off I feel better and better.

And then something odd happens.

I finish a task, go to the list, and it’s not there. I have done something extra. Something that wasn't planned.

So what do I do?

I write the task on the list and then promptly cross it off because it feels so good!

As great as it feels to cross items off a to-do list, simply getting tasks done does not mean that we are making progress. There are times where we are busy and completing lots of work, but not being productive.

This week I have a great conversation with Brad Yates about how we can move from simply being busy to being genuinely productive.

I would love to hear how you keep yourself on task and moving toward your goals.

I hope you are having a great Thursday,

Gene

PS: Over the last few weeks I have received a number of very nice emails from people telling me that they enjoy the site and the free resources. Thank you. It means a lot to know the tools are being used.

Being Busy Vs. Being Productive w/ Brad Yates - Sometimes we keep ourselves busy because we are avoiding something important that might be difficult or scary to do. In this conversation we talk about how to figure out why we are avoiding an important task and how we can tap to take the action we want.
