Good morning,
I spend a lot of time working with my clients on taking the steps that they know they want to take, but can't seem to get around to putting into action.
The two key emotional blocks responsible for people failing to take action are:
- They are worried about being judged for taking the action.
- They believe that since they have failed at something similar in the past, they are bound to fail again.
I consistently find that there is a second aspect to the fear of failing, which is the feeling of shame for having made a mistake in the past. So if we are reminded of a past failure, then we often also emotionally re-engage the shame.
For me, shame is the emotion I am least able to bear. I cannot stand it!
And because shame feels so painful it’s also the emotion I am least likely to tap on as I don't want to dig up the details of the moment or choice that had me feeling that way.
For that reason I need to be more deliberate about working on shame. I have to set time aside to work on it because if I don't, my shame will continue to bubble under the surface and affect me.
This week I am tapping for shame and I want you to join me! (Yes, I know it doesn't sound like much fun, but it is necessary.)

I hope you find the audio useful.

EFT For The Shame Of Being Wrong - Shame can be a crippling emotion. Because we regret the choices we have made in the past we are much more hesitant to take more action, which keeps us stuck. This week we tap for releasing any shame that we are still carrying around.
