Good morning,
Last Friday night I had the worst night’s sleep I have had in years.
Usually I sleep really well. I fall asleep easily. I wake up with energy.
But on Friday night I tossed and turned through the small hours. In the end I gave up and got out of bed at 5:45 to start my Saturday morning by doing some work.
The reason was simple: I was worried that I had let someone down.
I wasn't letting them down because I had committed to something and hadn’t lived up to that expectation.
And I wasn't letting them down because they asked me to do something specific and I hadn’t done it.
I felt like I was letting them down because of an expectation that I had created of myself that had never been verbalized.
The fear of letting others down can be overwhelming and debilitating. It is rooted in our primitive desire to belong to the group. Many thousands of years ago the only way nomadic people were able to survive was in the safety of tribes.
Our subconscious mind worries that if we let someone else down, they will sever the connection. Disconnection means being alone. Being alone is dangerous.
In a modern world we can see that this is illogical, but our emotions aren't logical.
This week I have a recording of the tapping I did to help release this fear of letting others down that was so big I couldn’t sleep.

Do you feel like you don't have enough time to tap? I last week I received an email from a reader asking how they could tap more efficiently. "Debbie" explained that she had a very full life with a job, a husband, and three kids. She loves tapping but doesn't feel like she has enough time in the day to do the tapping she would like.
Debbie's problem is a common one in our overly busy world. Here are six ways you can use to simplify your tapping when you are short of time.

I hope you find both of these tools useful.
Blessings,
Gene
