Good morning,

A few weeks ago on a flight home from a wedding in New Orleans I got talking with my seatmate as we waited for takeoff. He asked, "So, what's your story?"

It was an interesting question. It wasn't, "Where do you live?", "What do you do for a living?" or "Are you traveling for business or pleasure?"

"What's your story?"

It is an interesting question because it wasn't asking about the facts of my life, but what is the story that I tell about my life.

Often times when we tell the story of our lives, not only do we not share the facts, but we tell a story that isn't remotely true. I see this all the time with my clients. As part of the intake process I ask them about the issues they want to work on. When telling their story they share what is going on in their current circumstance and also why they think it is happening.

Sometimes they are right and sometimes they aren't.

This week I have a conversation with Jacqui Crooks in which we discuss the stories we tell about ourselves, how these impact our daily lives, and how we can transform them in a way that positively impacts our lives.

It is a really thoughtful conversation.

In my own life, one the places that I needed to have my story transformed was around how loveable I perceived myself to be. I have always been happy with who I see myself as, but emotionally I have questioned whether or not others would see me as loveable.

If you are struggling with seeing yourself as loveable I have a great reflection and tapping script for you.

Remember, I love hearing your thoughts on the resources I share and the areas you would like me to cover in the future. Just reply to this email to let me know.

Have a great Thursday,

Gene
