Good morning,
I will never forget the way one of the inmates in my anger management class talked about his anger.
He referred to his rage as "The Dragon", like an external force that took over his entire body. There were even times when he couldn’t remember what had happened or how he had acted when he was that angry.
"The Dragon" is such an evocative image. I have never experienced anger in that way, but I know what it is like to be so consumed by an emotion that I feel I have no choice in what I am experiencing.
In this week's podcast I talk to Dr. Deborah Miller about how we can start to choose different emotions.
As well as a great discussion, the interview includes tools you can use to gain more control over your emotional state, both in the moment and afterwards so that you feel less overwhelmed in the future.

Have a great day,
