Good morning,
In the last twenty years I have attended my fair share of self-help presentations, trainings, and retreats. I'm glad that I have because they have improved my life and I am a better person.
Last week I attended a presentation as the invited guest of a friend. She is a huge fan of the organization giving the presentation and was excited to have me there to discover what it is all about.
When I walked into the presentation I will admit I had my guard up, mostly because everyone I talked to on my way in and once I was seated went on and on about the work of the organization as if it were the greatest thing ever. I felt sceptical in the face of all that enthusiasm.
Once the leader of the evening was on stage I felt as if the audience were over eager. They were laughing a little too easily at his jokes and responding to ideas that I thought were quite obvious as if they were the most profound thoughts ever.
And then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I thought to myself "You are being an arrogant jackass! Who do you think you are that you are so much better than all of these people who have given up three hours on a Wednesday night to better their lives?"
For the next 90 seconds I sat there stewing in my shame.
"I am supposed to be this evolved person who is leading others through transformation and here I am just judging others."
It was not my finest moment.
I excused myself to the restroom, tapped for a few minutes, got my head straight, and headed back in the room. Once I was able to get over myself I had really good time and learned a few useful ideas that I have already implemented in the last week.
The next morning I had to do some soul searching to figure out why I had acted in such a judgmental manner.
This week I have a tap-along audio and a tapping script for those times when we are little too full of ourselves and judge others harshly.
You might not need this script, but I certainly did.
Tap along to the audio or print out the script: http://tappingqanda.com/?p=12238
I hope you have a great Thursday.

PS: I am still looking for your input to help make TappingQ&A better. I have created a very short 3-question survey. If you take two minutes to fill it out I will send you a free copy of my NLP for EFT program. Fill it out here: http://tappingqanda.com/?p=12205
