Good morning,
Recently, one of my favorite lines to tap on with clients is "I know it is a process...and I am tired of everything being a process." (Some of my clients are even treated to a well placed swear word when tapping on this.)
For me, there are two main problems with our success being a process.
First, there is the fact that it isn't happening right now, like we want it to.
Second, is the problem of the new normal, whereby whatever our current experience is becomes normal. Since it feels normal, it feels like it has always been this way and we end up not noticing or appreciating our progress.
For example, your knee might be hurting. On a scale of 1-10 it is at the pain level of 7. After tapping it is only a 4. You feel much better.
You wake up tomorrow, your pain is at a 4, and you're happy.
You wake up the next day, it is at a 4, and you're happy.
You wake up the next day, it is at a 4, and you're annoyed that you are still in pain.
The reason is that you no longer remember what it feels like when the pain is a 7 because you have adjusted to a pain level of a 4, which is your new normal. New normal feels like it has always been this way.
When we have adjusted to a new normal, we rapidly forget the progress we have made, lose perspective on the process, and then feel unmotivated to take more action.
This week in Part 6 of the 7-part Productivity Series, we are going to tap to make sure you don't fall victim to the new normal, which means staying motivated to keep taking action.
I have included both a tap-along audio and a printable tapping script.

This is a tricky issue to tap for because by its very nature we can't always identify it in ourselves. For that reason this is a great tap-along to come back to from time to time.
Let me know how it works for you,
Gene
